The Birds at the Bottom of the Garden is the first book in the British Wildlife Tales series. The book was imagined by Carl whilst he was drawing childlike cartoon pictures of birds so he could help his children learn how to identify the species that regularly visited his garden. Follow the little one down the garden path to the bottom of the garden, down by the shed, where they sit and watch as 10 different species of bird come in to view. The book gently introduces each species with a collection of rhyming couplets conveying just a little about the birds' appearance and behaviour.
